Registered restaurants, lodging facilities, direct sales stores, retail stores, and food processors actively using ingredients produced with or in Hokuto City's fertile soil, abundant water resources, and clean air. These stores not only strive for local production and local consumption but also take environmentally friendly measures such as recycling resources and reducing waste.
The Japanese word used for this project is "eco-hiiki". It is a combination of "eco (environmentally friendly ecology), and "hiiki ( favorite). We prefer to treat our customers with locally produced materials and encourage them to patronize Hokuto City again. This way, we intent to revitalize the region and encourage the local community to frequent local businesses as well.
* The Eco-Hiki Local Production and Consumption Cooperative Store is registered with the Commerce, Industry, Food and Agriculture Section, Industry and Tourism Department, Hokuto City Office.
