1000m of Sky Resort Yatsugatake
the place where you rediscover the pureness of yourself

The prefectural border of the Yatsugatake Tourism Zone is composed of three municipalities: Hara Village and Fujimi Town in Nagano, and Hokuto City in Yamanashi, which are resort areas on the southern and eastern foothills of Yatsugatake. The Yatsugatake Tourism Zone Development Promotion Council was launched, unrestrained by municipal boundaries, in order to enact long-term-stay-style tourism measures. The Yatsugatake Tourism Zone was certified by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in April 2010 in accordance with the Tourism Zone Development Act.

1000m of Sky Resort Yatsugatake

The very distinctive blue color of the sky here is the result of the climate and the very fresh air produced by the Japanese Alps, which run through the center of Japan, and the Yatsugatake Range. The specific color is called “Yatsugatake Blue.” Under such sky, there is an area where winds blow within the range of 6 degree Celsius and two seasons co-exist. The geographical structures of upland valleys, highlands and mountains are all within 1000m difference in altitude.

Yatsugatake is easily accessible from the Kanto and Kansai regions

The Yatsugatake Tourism Zone, located on the prefectural border between Yamanashi and Nagano, is a highly accessible spot reachable by a variety of transportation methods, including by train, car or bus, and in only around 3 hours and 30 minutes from Narita Airport in Tokyo as well as from Chubu Centrair International Airport in Aichi.
